We are implementing programmes in Satkhira, Khulna, Jessore and Bagerhat districts under Khulna division in the southwest of Bangladesh.
The area is home to an estimated 10 million people (647 people per square kilometre) many of them poor, small and marginal farm families and shrimp workers.
Agriculture and shrimp farming are the main sources of employment and livelihood.
The region is the most disaster-prone part of Bangladesh.
Cyclones, floods, tidal surges, repeated water logging and land erosion are common and they shape lives of the local communities.
